Mr. Perry became interested in GREEN BUILDING technology in 1985 when he was commissioned by the Canadian Department of Energy, Mines and Resources to do a study of projects in all fields, Residential, Commercial and Industrial, to determine whether they could benefit by instigating their own Energy Conservation Program. The project lasted for two years and covered over 1500 buildings and plants in British Columbia and was instrumental in saving substantial amounts of energy in the Province.
The progression to the complete Green Building concept followed, with
several studies that culminated in 1998 with membership in the US Green
Building Council and retrofit of three hotels to meet the requirements
of the LEED Green Building Rating System. The latest project is the subject
picture of our home page, one of the projects being used to evaluate the
LEED System. Open for more information on Richard Perry.
