PERRY ENGINEERING LTD.

The Company was formed in 1964 to provide engineering services in many diverse fields. The following are some of the major projects with which it has been involved:

The Vancouver International Airport - Mechanical design of all systems, air conditioning,
plumbing, docking equipment, and waste removal.

The Canadian Airlines Maintenance Base - Mechanical design of all systems, air conditioning, plumbing, plating shop, engine test cell, equipment test, foam deluge, offices, hangar, upholstery and
reservations computer room.

The Central Heat facility for downtown Vancouver including boiler plant and underground steam mains.

25 Skating Rinks including three Arenas and systems in the US, Argentine and Australia.

Fish processing plants throughout British Columbia.

Meat processing plants in Vancouver and vicinity.

Many commercial and residential buildings throughout Vancouver and vicinity.

In 1981 the Company became one of the pioneer firms in Computer Drafting doing work for many Architects and Engineers over the next 10 years. The Firm was Vancouver's first Autocad Dealer and constructed computer systems for many of the local Architectural, Mechanical & Electrical firms using AutoCAD as the drafting medium. Annual training in the Autocad updates involved a periodic trip to Sausalito, California. Subsidiaries were CADCO Graphics Ltd. and CADCO Sales and Service Ltd. Three other firms which Perry Engineering incorporated for particular projects were Territorial Projects Ltd., for projects in the Territories, Raeco Building Operations Ltd. specializing in Maintenance work and Fabian Ltd. specializing in Property Acquisition and Sales.

In 1985 the Company bid and was accepted by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, as the Prime Contractor for Energy Studies throughout British Columbia. During the period 1985-1990 the Company completed energy audits on 1500 buildings, plants, mines and sawmills. Value of the contract was $700,000. The contract came complete with Computers, Programs, Tools and two dual-fuel Energy Buses.

In 1991 the Company was instrumental in setting up a college, Mantissa Technical College, teaching Animation and Computer Drafting. The College trained over 500 Engineers and Draftsmen from British Columbia and from overseas. The Drafting and Animation programs used were the latest upgrades from Autodesk.

In 1997 the Company became interested in Green Building Technology and purchased a computer program to run the US Department of Energy, DOE2 Energy Analysis Program. At that time, the Company analyzed three major hotel projects as Pilot Projects for the fledgling US Green Building Council. The Company provided data for use by the US Green Building Council in their 'LEED' Green Building Rating System. The referenced building is the Kandalama Hotel in Sri Lanka, pictured on our home page.  The two other Green Building Hotel projects were the Fisherman's Hotel and the Barbaron in the Seychelles. The Kandalama Hotel received one of the first 'LEED'Awards presented, and was written up in the original US Green Building Council Booklet. In 1998 the Company entered into a Contract with Alexander Boome Consulting Emgineering Ltd. The Contract continued for the next 10 years, during which time the firm was involved in many projects, of which the most interesting are the High Rise Apartment Projects in San Diego, California and the Little Mountain Housing Project in Vancouver. The value of the work that the Company was involed in during that period amounted to more than 1 Billion Dollars. The contract ended in 2008 when Alex Boome sold his company.

The Company is presently working under Contract with DEC Design Mechanical Consultants Ltd. on a number of projects in Canada and Overseas. Of interest are recent projects: Olympic Village, Whistler, B.C., and the Social Services & Daycare Buildings in Carmacks, Yukon.
